Okha, Gujarat | : The Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Apoorva, a Fast Patrol Vessel (FPV), arrived at Okha on March 27, 2026, marking a significant enhancement to India’s coastal security infrastructure in the North-West maritime region. The vessel was accorded a ceremonial welcome in the presence of distinguished dignitaries from the Indian Navy, Border Security Force (BSF), Customs, Fisheries Department, and State Administration.
The induction of ICGS Apoorva into the Coast Guard Region (North West) fleet underscores the Government of India’s continued emphasis on strengthening maritime security, particularly along the sensitive coasts of Gujarat, Daman, and Diu. Equipped with advanced navigation, communication, and surveillance systems, the vessel is designed for high-speed, sustained, and mission-oriented operations at sea, enhancing operational readiness.
