Ahmedabad: Infusing the heart of Gujarat with festive joy, Vietjet, Vietnam’s premier airline, lavishly celebrated Diwali at Nexus Ahmedabad One Mall. This event beautifully merged the brilliance of India’s festival of lights with the allure and traditions of Vietnam. The lively celebration highlighted the airline’s dedication to being more than just a carrier – it serves as a cultural ambassador, bridging people and places. The standout feature of the evening was the stunning centrepiece, “Tunnel of Light,” inspired by Diwali’s theme of “light overcoming darkness.” This immersive installation, which showcased images of iconic tourist spots from India and Vietnam, captivated hundreds of visitors who came to explore, snap photos, and soak in the festive atmosphere.
Visitors also took part in an interactive, where guests penned their wishes and dreams on small cards and placed them on a model Vietjet aircraft representing journeys filled with love, happiness, and hope. Each participant received a Hoi An lantern, a refined Vietnamese keepsake that perfectly embodied the essence of Diwali. The moment the model aircraft was illuminated with hundreds of handwritten wishes created a moving highlight of the celebration.
The event featured a soulful performance by a Vietnamese traditional music ensemble, with four young artists performing on the đàn bầu, đàn tranh, đàn T’rưng, and flute. They delivered melodies that were traditional Vietnamese tunes while adding a fresh twist to popular international songs – much to the delight of the audience. Adding a local flair to the celebration, renowned local singer duo Preeti & Pinky set the stage ablaze with their energetic performances. Many attendees joined in the dancing, turning the Vietjet stage into a joyous celebration of rhythm and togetherness.
Two popular travel blogger couples – Hemani Chawda & Sagar Patel and Charvi & Jaimin Shah – also joined the celebration, sharing inspiring stories about discovering new destinations and enriching life through travel.
As part of the festivities, Vietjet presented a series of attractive gifts and organised a lucky draw, offering prizes such as five round-trip tickets to destinations including Vietnam, Australia, Japan, and South Korea.
