Chennai: Visteon Corporation (NASDAQ: VC), a global leader in automotive electronics and connected cockpit solutions, has officially introduced SCHOLAR, a premier initiative under Visteon University, in collaboration with 26 engineering colleges across India.
As India prepares to emerge as the world’s third-largest economy and a global leader in engineering services, it creates opportunities for universities to collaborate with the industry to enhance engineering talent. Through the SCHOLAR initiative, Visteon University will provide students with practical training, real-world and simulated experiences, along with mentorship from its leadership team.
Commenting on the launch, Mr Sivakumar Songappan, Vice President, Software Development Program Delivery, Visteon, said, “While India has the largest number of engineering colleges in the world, there is immense scope for the curriculum to be ahead of the innovation curve in line with the dynamic needs of the automotive industry. With its “Classroom-to-Cockpit” accelerated learning model, the SCHOLAR Program addresses the critical talent readiness gap across Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, driven by:

• Skill Development: Training students in advanced tools, technologies, and real world simulation projects.
