Ahmedabad: Truetzschler India Celebrates Major Milestone with New Manufacturing Facility. Truetzschler India, a branch of the 137-year-old German textile machinery powerhouse, Trützschler Group SE, recently celebrated a significant milestone with the opening of its cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Sanand, near Ahmedabad. This ₹400-crore investment showcases the company’s strong dedication to India and its expanding role in the global textile machinery sector.
The inauguration was attended by esteemed guests, including the Honourable Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Bhai Patel; Honourable Member of Parliament, Shri Parshottam Ji Rupala; Sanand MLA, Kanubhai Patel; and the Consulate General of Germany in India, Mr. Achim Fabig. Additionally, family members of the owners and shareholders, along with senior Truetzschler leadership and Indian management teams, were present.
Truetzschler has been active in India since 1977 under the name “Trumac” and has steadily grown its presence over the years. Due to space constraints in its three previous units in Lambha, the company acquired a 42-acre plot in Sanand, where it has developed a modern integrated facility over the past three years. The card clothing (TCC) unit began operations in July of last year, followed by the spinning division, which became operational in February of this year.
The new facility boasts advanced automation, digital integration, and a spacious climate-controlled area designed to ensure optimal product quality and employee comfort. Its installed capacity is nearly double that of the previous Lambha facility, and it currently supports approximately 1,200 direct and indirect jobs. The site also allows for further expansion, with an additional 25,000 sq. mt. of land available for future development.
During the ceremony, Shri Parshottam Ji Rupala unveiled Truetzschler’s latest innovation, the TC26i intelligent Carding machine, while Shri Bhupendra Bhai Patel unveiled the commemorative plaque. In his address on the occasion of Gujarat Foundation Day, the Chief Minister reiterated Truetzschler’s strategic presence across Germany, the US, China, and Brazil, emphasizing that the new Sanand plant is now the company’s largest and most technologically advanced facility globally.
The collaborative efforts of the Gujarat government, Truetzschler’s teams from India and Germany, employees, and suppliers in bringing this ambitious project to fruition were also acknowledged during the event.
